ELIXIR is the European Research Infrastructure for life-science data, dedicated to providing the scientific community with a state-of-the-art infrastructure for Bioinformatics, featuring advanced platforms and services for the analysis of genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data. The ELIXIRxNextGenIT project, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aims to strengthen the Italian node of ELIXIR and provide solid ground for the maintenance and development of its Bioinformatic services. Thanks to the ELIXIRxNextGenIT project, the UNIPD node of ELIXIR-IT has gained significant computing power, high-performance GPUs and storage capacity, with an investment also including personnel supporting the use and maintenance of the infrastructure. The project aligns with the roadmap of the ELIXIR-IT node and national initiatives, particularly through the upgrade of the CloudVeneto infrastructure.
This event will serve as a platform to present ELIXIR services and the outcomes of the ELIXIRxNextGenIT project to the local scientific community. During the event, we will provide an overview of ELIXIR activities and their connections with other international initiatives, such as the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The new UNIPD facility will be presented showing how it integrates into the ELIXIR ecosystem and how researchers can access its infrastructure and services.
